#blackdovebloggers

The southside of Glasgow called me back for one night only. Black Dove on Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands very kindly invited me along to the tasting event of their new menu. The menu was sent out prior the event so it was a great chance to get a good swatch as to what was going to be served up for us bloggers.
I had absolutely no idea how to get to Shawlands via train, there is like 3 train stations in the Shawlands area but good auld google helped me out and Pollockshaws East was the winner. I got to Glasgow Central looked at the board, nowhere did it mention this train station. Back onto google i went and took a gamble with Crossmyloof. Got the 6pm train from Glasgow Central and arrived in Crossmyloof at 10 past 6. The train station was roughly 5-10 minute walk away from Black Dove so the nice wee stroll killed some time as i was 50 minutes early. So as i was super early I went into the pub next door James Tassie, ordered a wee drink and phoned my mother for a chat.
Had a very warm welcome from the Black Dove staff. The restaurant was lit by candle light was really lovely and stylish inside, took my seat and was given a wee glass of prosecco which was probably was the best glass of prosecco i have ever had. Black Dove is a very unique restaurant, there is nowhere in Glasgow like it. Very much tapas vibes but it's not your patatas bravas dishes, its the family favourites. An excellent option for a  date night or a lunch or  even if you want to dine out for breakfast they offer that too on a Sunday between the hours of 10am - 12:30pm.

The pictures speak for themselves. The food was an absolute dream. Everything tasted amazing, cooked to perfection. My absolute favourite that i cant stop craving A DAY LATER is the Pork Belly Scotch Egg with Chorizo Jam and Apple Salad. This was actually unreal. I don't even eat or like scotched eggs but hand on heart this was absolutely outstanding. I really encourage Black Dove to start selling jars to that Chorizo Jam. The Lamb Rump is up there too in second place, possibly joint first place, it was melt in the mouth kinda stuff. A M A Z I N G! Favourite dessert was the Honey and Morello Cheesecake. That Honeycomb was out of this world.
Last night i got to meet fellow Glasgow bloggers and they couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly. A genuinely lovely bunch of people. It was a great night i really hope we all get to meet again.
And lastly but not least a MASSIVE thank you to the Black Dove team who took such good care of us and cooked us amazing food and made us lovely cocktails. I have ranted and raved all morning about how amazing the place is! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for inviting me along. I will deffos be back for those scotched eggs and chorizo jam.
